10 Dec It’s snowing in Nuneaton – update on local school closures
If you have windows (or social media) you will have seen the large blanket of snow we’ve had in and around Nuneaton.
The gritters have been out around the main roads in Warwickshire but the small side streets are covered in thick snow. Be careful if you have to drive anywhere! I’ve had to drive to work in Stafford and the worst part of the journey was managing to get out of Galley Common and down Astley Lane towards Corley. You can see from the tyre marks in the nearly untouched snow that some cars have left the road.
Because of all of this snow and because the footpaths are so treacherous a number of schools have been closed around Warwickshire. The list is being updated regularly but all of the schools around Galley Common have now been announced as being closed tomorrow due to the adverse weather conditions.
Galley Common Infant School, Park Lane Primary School and Nursery, Michael Drayton Junior School & Hartshill School are all closed for tomorrow. For updates and to sign up for text alerts you can see the full list of Warwickshire school closures on the County Council’s website at http://warwickshire.gov.uk/schoolclosures/
