30 Oct Martial Artist Running To Save Lives
Following his well-attended charity self defence class last month a local martial artist is aiming to run 100 miles to save lives.
Robinson Tae Kwon Do owner and Galley Common resident Steven Robinson held a successful self defence class last month to raise money for Councillor Dan Gissane‘s defibrillator campaign. Dan is raising money to purchase life saving equipment for the local community in Galley Common, Nuneaton.
Steven has raised £190 so far and wants to raise more. He is now aiming to run one hundred miles (around five miles every day) in November to help to raise enough money to pay for secure cabinets to house defibrillators inside. The defibrillators cost around £1000 each with the cabinets costing around £500-£800 each. These are needed for the defibrillators to be placed outside in the community in an easy-to-access location should they ever be needed by a member of the public. The cabinets sadly have to be extremely tough and secure to prevent (or withstand) vandalism and theft.
If you’d like to do something to help raise money for this vital equipment please get in touch.
