Nuneaton bin collections affected by the snow – update from NBBC

Several bin collections around Nuneaton and Bedworth have been missed due to the heavy snowfall.

Update from Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council:

“Waste supervisors and unions have reviewed the current situation and deemed it too dangerous for our waste employees to undertake waste collections today and they have therefore been stood down.”

I have asked if additional black bags will also be taken away as it has now been nearly three weeks since our black bins were last emptied and have been told that the bin men will collect “reasonable” amounts of side waste. Just remember to bag it up.

The advice is to continue to leave your black bin out and they hope to get round in the next couple of days to clear the backlog.

I have been chasing updates for the bins in Galley Common but have been contacted by a couple of residents living elsewhere in the Borough. The advice from NBBC is the same but if you do live outside of Galley Common and want specific answers you can find details of your local Borough Councillor by using the ‘search for a Councillor by Ward‘ facility on the Council’s website.
